Japanese trading firm Marubeni Corp (TYO:8002) on Wednesday officially marked the completion of a 1.8-MW photovoltaic (PV) project in Shizuoka prefecture by its unit Mibugawa Power Co.
The solar array, installed on private land in Oyama town, has been operational since August 2015, according to the press release. The PV system is expected to generate approximately 2.09 GWh of electricity annually, enough to power some 580 local households. Its output will be sold under Japan’s feed-in-tariff (FiT) programme.
Including the latest addition, Marubeni’s installed solar capacity currently amounts to 200 MW.
