Real estate investor Ichigo Inc (TYO:2337) said today it has signed a final agreement with the Tsu City government to build a 2.8-MW solar park in the city in Japan's Mie Prefecture.
The company's subsidiary Ichico ECO Energy expects to start construction work in April of next year. The photovoltaic (PV) plant will be built on city-owned land where an incineration plant was located previously.
The renewables arm of Ichigo was selected by the Tsu city government through an open public competition on June 28. Ichigo intends to donate to the city 2% of the annual revenues generated by the plant, along with a clean energy vehicle and a fast-charging station.
