Three Gorges subsidiary to build 240.5-MW hydropower plant in Guinea

(SeeNews) - Aug 15, 2011 - China International Water and Electric Corp (CWE), a subsidiary of Three Gorges Corp, and the government of Guinea will jointly develop a 240.5-MW hydropower project in the African country.

The project calls for an investment of USD-526-million (EUR 367.5m), with 25% of the amount to come from Guinea. The balance of 75% will be provided by the Chinese partner, Guinea's Energy Minister Papa Koly Kourouma announced.

Construction of the facility, to commence by the end of 2011, will take about four years.
