Tamil Nadu lifts tariff for wind power to USD 0.06/kWh - report
Aug 2, 2012 - The Tamil Nadu Electricity Regulatory Commission (TNERC) in India’s southern state of Tamil Nadu has raised the tariff for power produced by wind farms to INR 3.51 (USD 0.06/EUR 0.05) per kWh, The Hindu Business Line said yesterday.
Projects completed after August 1, 2012 and before July 31, 2014 will get the increased power sale rate.
According to the report, wind turbine commissioned before May 15, 2006 are getting a tariff of INR 2.75 per kWh. The rate for projects completed after that date, but before September 18, 2008 is INR 2.90 per kWh. Wind turbine installations wrapped up after September 2008 and by July 31 this year, are selling their output at a tariff of INR 3.39 per kWh.
