Taiwan's Motech revenues jump 32.7% Y/Y in Sep 2014

Oct 7, 2014 - Taiwanese solar cell maker Motech Industries Inc (TPO:6244) said today its revenues for September 2014 have surged by 32.71% year-on-year to TWD 1.55 billion (USD 51m/EUR 40m).

On a month-on-month basis, the company’s revenues rose by 39.06%. This came after the US Department of Commerce’s (DOC) decision from late August to reduce the anti-dumping duty rate of Taiwanese solar firms. This included Motech's tax rate, which boosted the order visibility for the company.

Motech saw its January-September revenues go slightly down by 0.03% on the year to TWD 15.12 billion.

Apart from cells and modules, Motech also produces and distributes solar portable power boxes, power supply and signal generation devises and other products. It ranked sixth in the top 10 solar cell producers list for 2013, compiled by market researcher NPD Solarbuzz.
