Switzerland to cuts solar FITs by 15% as of Oct 2012

Aug 22, 2012 - The Swiss Federal Department of the Environment, Transport, Energy and Communications (DETEC) announced on Monday that the solar feed-in tariffs (FITs) in the country will be reduced by an average of 15% as of October 2012.

The reduction is based on the significant drop in prices of photovoltaic (PV) modules on the European market.

This is already the third consecutive cut in FITs in the course of 2012 after the regular 8% reduction as of January 2012 and the around 10% extraordinary cut, which took effect as of March.

As of the beginning of 2013, FITs in Switzerland will be again reduced by an average of 8%, the DETEC said.
