Nov 26, 2013 - Swedish onshore wind farms developer Arise AB (STO:ARISE) said Monday it had struck one-year lease agreements for its Froslida and Gettnabo wind parks in Sweden that have a total capacity of 34.5 MW.
The company has already sealed contracts to lease out its Sodra Karra, Blekhem and Skappentorp wind farms with a combined capacity of 24.5 MW, it had said previously.
Now Arise has 59 MW of wind farms leased out to other operators which is expected to add about SEK 16 million (USD 2.4m/EUR 1.8m) to the wind farm developer’s annual earnings, it calculates. Arise explained that it had developed the lease concept in order to keep revenues high for a continuous period in spite of the decreased power prices and electricity certificates. It added that it might consider leasing out more of its wind parks.
Earlier in November Arise said its third-quarter net loss had expand to SEK 15 million from SEK 12 million a year earlier. Sales remained unchanged at SEK 41 million, while electricity generation rose to 103 GWh from 73 GWh a year before.
