Suzlon lands 48.3 MW wind turbine order from Indian Oil
Aug 19, 2011 - Indian wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy (BOM:532667) said on Wednesday it had secured an order for 48.3 MW of wind turbine units from State-owned Indian Oil Corp Ltd (BOM:530965).
Suzlon will deliver 23 units of its S88-2.1 MW turbines for installation in the Indian state Andhra Pradesh. As part of the contract, the company will also operate and maintain the facilities.
This is the second order Suzlon receives from Indian Oil. The latter entered the wind power sector in January 2009, when it turned on the switch of a 21-MW wind farm in the state of Gujarat, which was also built by Suzlon.
