Spanish renewable power retailer Holaluz Clidom SA (BME:HLZ) has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to procure electricity from a 5.1-MWp solar farm in central Spain, the company announced on Wednesday.
The plant Huesun I, located in the region of Castile-La Mancha, is managed by Madrid-based asset management firm Blacksalt AM. It is operated by Spanish solar power solutions firm Opengy, which also built it.
The contract with Blacksalt and Opengy will enable Holaluz to purchase enough power to supply around 3,500 customers. The PPA is an example of Holaluz’s initiative to promote local and small-scale power production from both rooftop and ground-mounted installations as part of its collaboration programme with small generators, the power supplier said.
Holaluz added that it had signed PPAs for 49.1 MW of renewable energy so far this year, which enabled it to connect over 33,000 customers to clean power.
