The Spanish wind tower maker is to supply 84 transition pieces for the 800-MW wind farm that being developed off the coast of Massachusetts. The contract was awarded in an international tender by Avangrid Inc (NYSE:AGR), the US unit of Spanish energy giant Iberdrola (BME:IBE).

The work on the Vineyard Wind farm will mark the third collaboration between Iberdrola-controlled units and Windar Renovables. Previously, Windar manufactured jacket piles for the 714-MW East Anglia One offshore wind farm in the UK and for the 350-MW Wikinger offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea.
