Independent solar power producer (IPP) Sonnedix Power Holdings Ltd said on Thursday it has reached 249.5 MW of operating photovoltaic (PV) capacity in Italy with a new 2-MW solar purchase.
The portfolio consists of two ground-mounted PV parks located in the Emilia Romagna region, Northern Italy, which have been operational since 2011. The plants have been built under the Conto Energia II feed-in tariff (FiT) scheme.
The sellers are Glaros Srl and Leonardo Energy Ltd.
"Sonnedix continues to actively seek opportunities to expand its presence in this market, and globally, through acquisitions and development of solar photovoltaic projects," the company said.
Law firm Raffaelli Segreti provided Sonnedix with legal counsel, while Duff & Phelps' Real Estate Advisory Group (REAG) was its technical advisor. RSM Studio Palea Lauri Gerla advised it on fiscal matters.
This is Sonnedix's second solar acquisition this month. At the start of December, it bought a 7.2-MW Spanish solar portfolio from a group of private individuals, thus expanding its operating PV fleet in Spain to 390.6 MWp.
