(ADPnews) - Oct 12, 2010 - Chinese photovoltaic (PV) equipment maker Solarfun Power Holdings Co Ltd (NASDAQ:SOLF) said yesterday that it will develop an 8.1 MW solar power system in Heyuan City, Guangdong Province.
The company's wholly-owned subsidiary Jiangsu Linyang Solar Power Electronic Engineering Co Ltd has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement with Heyuan-based Guangdong Guohua New Energy Investment Co Ltd.
Pursuant to the deal, Jiangsu Linyang will engineer the project and supply and deploy the PV modules on a 30 hectares (74 acres) spanning array.
Solarfun's CEO, Ping Peter Xie, recognises the installation as the largest one for the company in China. A vertically integrated manufacturer of silicon ingots, wafers and PV cells and modules, via its subsidiaries the company has also supplied building-integrated PV modules to the Olympic Park in Beijing in 2008 and delivered 10.2 MW of modules to China Xuzhou Xiexin Generation Stations in 2009. Earlier this year, the company has supplied its solar elements to the French and Hamburg Pavilions at the Shanghai World Expo 2010.
