August 27 (Renewables Now) - China-based solar tracking and racking systems Arctech Solar said today it has signed a deal with a unit of Greek construction group AKTOR for a 256.6-MWp project in the Australian state of Victoria.

The contract with AKTOR’s subsidiary Biosar Australia Pty Ltd calls for the deployment of the SkySmart tracking system for the project in Ouyen. This tracker uses only 219 foundations per MW and provides double pitch drive-through space for module cleaning vehicles, the supplier notes.

The Aussie project should be completed by July 2019. Arctech Solar also has a contract to supply the 121-MWp Arctracker Pro to the Yarranlea solar plant in Toowoomba, Queensland. The company's cumulative order of trackers currently stands at about 400 MWp in Australia.

Guy Rong, the president of Arctech Solar's international business, commented that the company will be setting up a subsidiary in Australia this year as it looks to further expand its presence there.
