Solar tender in Rajasthan awards 640 MW at INR 2.49/kWh - report

March 4 (Renewables Now) - An oversubscribed solar tender in the Indian state of Rajasthan has awarded 750 MW at rates of INR 2.48 (USD 0.035/EUR 0.031) and INR 2.49 per kWh, Mercom India reports.

The clean energy communications and consulting firm cited an official from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd (SECI) as saying that the availability of good transmission infrastructure and cheap land has helped achieve the low bids.

The table below shows who won the right to sign 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs) with SECI under the tender.

Mercom previously reported that the 750-MW solar tender got 2,370 MW of bids. The successful projects will be developed under the build-own-operate (BOO) model.
