Solar module spot price climbs by 0.35% W/W - EnergyTrend
Oct 24, 2014 - The average spot price for solar modules increased by 0.35% week-on-week to USD 0.577 (EUR 0.456) per watt during the seven days through October 22, statistics by EnergyTrend show.
The price of solar cells made in China rose by 0.95% to USD 0.318 per watt, while those manufactured in Taiwan continued to trade at an average of USD 0.335/W.
Multi-crystalline silicon (multi-Si) wafers sold for USD 0.905 per 156-sq-mm piece on average, which is a week-on-week increase of 0.56%. At the same time, the average spot price of mono-crystalline silicon (mono-Si) wafers went up by 0.85% to USD 1.180 per 156-sq-mm unit.
The average spot price per 1 kg of polysilicon, a crucial raw material for most photovoltaics, was flat at USD 20.700.
