Romanian engineering, procurement, and construction company for utility-scale renewable energy projects LSG Building Solutions has picked Germany's skytron energy to supply control systems for a 50 megawatt peak (MWp) photovoltaic project in Romania, skytron energy said on Thursday.
Skytron energy and LSG Building Solutions have already completed two solar projects in Romania, of 45 MWp and 20 MWp, in the southern county of Giurgiu, skytron energy said in a statement.
The new project is scheduled for commissioning by the end of this year.
"In all three plants, the skycontrol power plant controller provides closed-loop active and reactive power control. In addition, its control functions have been specially enhanced to allow external commands for power dispatching using the IEC 60870 telecontrol protocol," skytron energy said.
Skytron energy has installed monitoring and control systems in more than 600 plants with a total capacity of over 4.5 GWp. The company’s core competencies are plant condition monitoring, power plant control, remote plant supervision, system migration of existing power plants, operation & maintenance, and PV asset management.
