January 3 (Renewables Now) - Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy SA (BME:SGRE) has extended a guarantee line to EUR 150 million (USD 167.2m) from an initial EUR 100 million in an arrangement with Danske Bank A/S (CPH:DANSKE) that includes the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) criteria.

The wind turbine company said Friday it had signed a deal with similar conditions with Amsterdam-based Mizuho Bank Europe NV for a new EUR-140-million guarantee line.

The guarantee lines, being tied to SDGs related to affordable and clean energy and climate action, are labelled green. Siemens Gamesa said it had reached EUR 1.72 billion in green guarantee lines in less than a year.

The company added the funds will go towards its onshore and offshore wind turbine manufacturing business and global sales, contributing to the climate protection SDGs.
