Shunfeng PV solar farms produce 318.4 GWh in Jan-Aug 2014
Sep 12, 2014 - China-based Shunfeng Photovoltaic International Ltd (HKG:1165) said yesterday it had generated some 318.4 GWh of solar power during the first eight months of 2014.
Apart from making solar photovoltaics (PV), the company also builds and operates solar parks. It produced some 67.8 GWh in August alone, almost reaching the output from the whole January-to-April period of 2014, which stood at 74.6 GWh. Comparative figures were not available.
At the end of March, Shunfeng PV said that it aimed to achieve grid-connected solar power generation capacity of 4,000 MW in 2014 and 10,000 MW by end-2016 both at home and abroad. This month the Chinese firm said it would acquire all the assets of insolvent German solar project developer SAG Solarstrom (ETR:SAG).
A week ago, Shunfeng PV's chairman Zhang Yi told reporters the company was holding talks with as many as five lenders in an attempt to secure funding for its expansion.
