PODGORICA (Montenegro), February 2 (SeeNews) – Montenegro’s Economy Ministry said it has received letters from seventeen international and local companies interested in concessions for the construction and exploitation of small hydropower plants in eight locations.
The ministry will now evaluate the interest and eventually open a tender for awarding the concessions, it said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.
The concessions will cover the design, construction and exploitation of small hydropower plants, which will produce between 0.9 and 14.2 gigawatthours (GWh) annually, depending on their location, the ministry said earlier.
The project is part of Montenegro’s strategy for energy development through 2025.
