Serbia's Krusevac signs MoU with local JV on 25 mln euro biomass project

BELGRADE (Serbia), July 2 (SeeNews) - The municipality of the central Serbian town of Krusevac said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with local company Building Energy 1 for the construction of a 25 million euro ($27.7 million) biomass-fired power plant.

Building Energy 1, which is a joint venture formed by Italy's Sinergy Invest and local company Building Energy, plans to build the power plant within the next two years, the municipality said on Wednesday after the signing ceremony took place.

There are also plans to link up the biomass power plant to the local heating plant and to supply heating energy to the town.

Cooperation between Building Energy 1 and the municipality is also possible on the construction of a solar park in Krusevac, with plans to draft a study and project implementation plan, the statement said.
