Serbia Says Belgium’s Electrawinds To Launch Biomass Fuel Plant in Sept 2012
The biomass fuel plant that the Serbian unit of Belgium’s Electrawinds, Energo Zelena, is building in the northern municipality of Indjija is expected to come on stream in September 2012, the Balkan country's Economy Ministry said on Tuesday.
Energo Zelena will invest 21 million euro ($28 million) in the plant which will process slaughterhouse waste and will employ some 100 workers, the ministry said in a statement marking the attendance of Economy Minister Nebojsa Ciric of the ground-breaking ceremony for the facility.
Ciric said in the statement a similar plant will be built in southern Serbia. It was not immediately clear who will implement that project.
