SE Bulgaria produces 250,087 MWh of renewable power in July-Sept - EVN
A total of 250,087 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity worth 121.5 million levs ($80.7 million/62.1 million euro) were generated from renewable energy sources in Southeast Bulgaria in July-September, power distributor EVN Bulgaria said on Thursday.
Of the total, Bulgaria’s power grid operator NEK has to reimburse 98.9 million levs to power distributor EVN Bulgaria Elektrosnabdiavane, EVN Bulgaria said in a press release.
NEK, however, has so far reimbursed just 18.6 million levs, following recent changes in the fee for access to the national grid, it added.
The latest peak in the production of energy from renewable sources was registered on September 1, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., when its load in the circuit reached 385 megawatts, or 38% of the total consumption by all EVN clients in Bulgaria in the one-hour period.
EVN Bulgaria attributed the rise to the large number of new photovoltaic plants connected to the grid lately and the favourable weather conditions in the period under review.
