August 29 (Renewables Now) - Japanese renewable energy firm SB Energy Corp said today that a 7.5-MW wind farm developed in partnership with a subsidiary of Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Finance (TYO:8593) will be put online on September 1, 2019.
The Softbank Akita Kotooka Wind Farm is located in Kotooka city, Akita prefecture. It will be managed by a special purpose company (SPC) named Akita Kotooka Wind Farm GK and formed by SB Energy and MUL Energy Investment Co Ltd.
The facility will be able to produce some 17.33 million MWh per year, enough to meet the annual demand of 4,800 local households, the clean energy arm of SoftBank Corp (TYO:9984) said.
According to SB Energy's press release, the wind park consists of three 2.5-MW wind turbines and covers an area of 3.7 hectares (9.1 acres).
