SAG Solarstrom hooks to Italian grid 3.6 MWp of solar plants in Aug
Sep 10, 2012 - German solar power plant specialist SAG Solarstrom (ETR:SAG) said today it had connected seven photovoltaic (PV) power plants with a total output of 3.6 MWp to the Italian grid in the month of August 2012.
The solar installations in northern Italy will thus receive feed-in tariffs (FiTs) of EUR 0.23 (USD 0.29) per kWh on average, the German company said.
The Italian government is expected to drop the FiT scheme for solar power at the end of 2012. So, SAG Solarstrom plans to focus on PV projects without subsidised feed-in tariffs in Italy, CEO Karl Kuhlmann said, pointing out that the solar irradiation in northern Italy allows solar power generation at a cost of below EUR 15 per kWh.
