Ørsted secures EUR 2bn by issuing green bonds

September 7 (Renewables Now) - Danish clean energy group Ørsted A/S (CPH:ORSTED) on Tuesday announced the issuance of EUR 900 million (USD 893m) and GBP 950 million (USD 1.09bn/EUR 1.1bn) of unsecured green senior bonds to fund its renewable energy deployment globally.

The issuance includes a EUR-900-million fixed-rate tranche with maturity in 2031 and a coupon of 3.250%, a GBP-375-million fixed-rate tranche with maturity in 2034 and a coupon of 5.125%, and a GBP-575-million fixed-rate tranche with maturity in 2042 and a coupon of 5.375%.

Pricing was completed at between 99.699% and 99.977% of the nominal amount.

Ørsted has committed to reaching 50 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030. The bonds sale does not change the company’s 2022 financial outlook or its expected investment level for 2022, it said.
