Romania’s Hidroelectrica Wraps Up 88 Mln Euro Plant Upgrade

BUCHAREST (Romania), February 25 (SeeNews) – Romanian state-owne hydropower producer Hidroelectrica completed a 88 million euro ($121 million) upgrade of its Lotru-Ciunget plant, news agency Mediafax reported on Friday.

The Lotru-Ciunget unit located in the southwestern county of Valcea has an installed capacity of 510 megawatts (MW), Mediafax (www.mediafax.ro) reported.

Hidroelectrica is Romania's largest electricity producer with an overall installed capacity of around 6,400 MW in 272 hydropower plants and pumping stations. Its output increased 27% last year to 19.7 terrawatthours.
