Risen Energy hits 23.08% maximum efficiency for monocrystalline PERC cell

May 29 (Renewables Now) - Chinese solar products maker Risen Energy Co Ltd (SHE:300118) said on Tuesday it has reached a maximum conversion efficiency of 23.08% for its MBB PERC monocrystalline photovoltaic (PV) cells.

The average efficiency for the particular cell stands at 22.73%.

Meanwhile, the Chinese firm said it has also achieved a conversion efficiency of 22.05% of its proprietary cast-mono 5BB Passivated Emitter and Rear Contact (PERC) cell, which uses double-sided passivation, antireflective films, electro-injection passivation and has slurry improvements. The result marks the first time that a cast-mono 5BB cell has surpassed the 22% efficiency level, according to Risen Energy.

The Chinese company noted it will continue to help accelerating grid parity by implementing quality and efficiency improvements. It also intends to work with its strategic material suppliers to promote the development of new materials, it added.
