Real Goods Solar, Gestamp Solar team up for 4.8-MW solar project in Vermont
Jul 18, 2012 - US solar systems integrator Real Goods Solar Inc (NASDAQ:RSOL) and Gestamp Solar announced plans on Tuesday to build two solar power installations with a combined capacity of 4.8 MW in Vermont.
The two installations in Pownal and Williamstown, with capacity of 2.3 MW and 2.5 MW respectively, are expected to be completed by the end of 2012. Construction is to begin by the end of July.
Gestamp Solar, a unit of Spanish engineering company Corporacion Gestamp, will own and operate the ground mounted solar arrays, while the design and installation works will be carried out by RGS Energy, the commercial and utility unit of Real Goods Solar.
The two projects will have a combined annual output of 5,500 MWh and all of the generated electricity will be sold through a feed-in tariff under the Standard Offer Program of Vermont's Sustainably Priced Energy Development (SPEED) programme.
