June 21 (Renewables Now) - Quick Mount PV, a US manufacturer of solar roof mounting and racking systems, is doubling production at its facility in Walnut Creek, California.

The company said Wednesday it will add a second shift, a move that will boost its annual production capacity to support 1.2 GW of solar.

The news follows Quick Mount PV’s announcement in April regarding the expansion of the company’s warehouse and training centre in Florida. The manufacturer of waterproof roof attachments then said, citing the Solar Foundation’s National Solar Jobs Census, that the Florida market recorded a solar job growth of 20% in 2018.

Quick Mount PV's president Yann Brandt predicts a big year for rooftop solar installations. According to the US Solar Market Insight Report from Wood Mackenzie and the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), 603 MW of residential solar installations were registered in the US during the first quarter of 2019, up by 6% on the year.
