PV cell spot price declines by 0.55% W/W - EnergyTrend
Jul 9, 2014 - The average spot price for solar cells for the seven days to July 9 decreased by 0.55% to USD 0.359 (EUR 0.264) per watt, according to the latest weekly statistics by Taiwan-based EnergyTrend.
The prices for both multi-crystalline silicon (multi-Si) and mono-crystalline silicon (mono-Si) cells remained the same at USD 1.535 and USD 1.780, respectively, per 156-sq-mm piece.
The average module price was flat at USD 0.582. There was no weekly change in the average spot prices for photovoltaic (PV) inverters, CPV or thin-film as well.
At the same time, the average spot price for multi-Si wafers declined by 0.2% to USD 0.974 apiece, while for mono-Si wafers it went down by 0.08% to USD 1.191.
The average price for polysilicon, the main raw material for the photovoltaics industry, fell by 0.07% to USD 20.411 per kg.
