Premier Power embarks on 16.2-MW solar project in Bulgaria
Sep 29, 2011 - US Premier Power Renewable Energy Inc (OTC:PPRW) said Wednesday it would build four solar power facilities in south-central Bulgaria with a combined capacity of 16.2 MW.
The company won the project in a joint venture with Plaan Czech sro, while financing is coming from a private investment bank in the Czech Republic.
The photovoltaic (PV) systems, with capacities of between 3 MW and 5 MW, will be located in the town of Dimitrovgrad. Construction is to start this month, while all four installations are to be completed by the year-end. The project comes to support Bulgaria's goal to fetch 16% of its power demand from renewables by the end of the decade.
Premier Power currently operates over 1,000 solar power installations in both Europe and North America.
