Oct 26, 2012 - Polish power grid operator PSE Operator today said it had determined the conditions to connect to the state's gird the proposed 1,045.5-MW offshore wind farm of state-controlled utility PGE (WAR:PGE) in the Baltic Sea.
PGE's Baltica-3 offshore wind farm will be established in phases, with completion slated for 2019, PSE Operator said.
This the second offshore wind project in Poland that receives conditions for connecting to the grid by PSE Operator, after the 1,200-MW wind project of Baltyk Srodkowy III, part of Kulczyk Investments which is owned by Polish tycoon Jan Kulczyk.
PGE has permits to develop three wind projects with total capacity of 3,450 MW in the Polish Baltic Sea. The company aims to have 1 GW of offshore wind power capacity by 2020.
