Weekly renewables M&A round-up (May 23-27)
May 27, 2022 17:26 CESTJanuary 18 (Renewables Now) - Polish industrial real estate developer MLP Group SA (WSE:MLG) has launched a project to install 5.93 MWp of rooftop solar plants at ten logistics parks its owns and operates in Poland.
The company has hired domestic PV specialist Quanta Energy SA to work on the project design and installation, the duo said in a joint statement, calling their undertaking "the largest on-site PV project" in Poland.
Quanta Energy's engineers will install PV panels across around 120,000 square metres (1.29 million sq ft) of rooftop space. Due to the limited load-bearing capacity of the warehouse roofs, the panels will have to be mounted on special lightweight frames, the companies explained.
The ten solar energy systems together will generate some 5.3 GWh of electricity per year, which will be mainly consumed on-site by the warehouse buildings.
Quanta Energy has already started working on the project. The whole initiative is expected to be finalised in the first quarter of 2023.
