Poland's wind power output rises 7.34% Y/Y in Aug 2012
Sep 14, 2012 - Poland's wind power production increased 7.34% year-on-year to 216 GWh in August, according to figures published by the Polish state-owned transmission operator PSE Operator.
However, the decline in the production of all other power sources during the month led to a decrease in the country's total power output by 3.65% on the year to 12,434 GWh. Total power consumption declined as well by 0.9% to 12,389 GWh.
Hydropower output marked a sharp drop of 44.43% to 147 GWh. Gas-fired power production fell 3.56% to 304 GWh, while coal-fired power output slipped 1.24% to 6,593 GWh and lignite-fired power output declined 5.31% to 4,539 GWh.
Poland's total power output from January to August decreased 1.23% on the year to 105,686 GWh, while power consumption rose 0.18% to 103,777 GWh.
