November 22 (Renewables Now) - French infrastructure fund manager Omnes Capital has made an investment of an unspecified amount in Sweden’s HP Solartech, a utility-scale solar project developer with 1.2-GW pipeline.
The investment was carried out as part of a capital raising initiated by HP Solartech, the latter’s financial advisor Ernst & Young said on Monday. Details about the deal and the names of other investors that took part in the funding round were not disclosed.
According to HP Solartech’s website, the company’s current development portfolio consists of 750 MW of projects, with 16 MW being under construction and 90 MW labeled as upcoming. Among the projects under construction are three solar plants of 4.6 MW each in Sweden that are due to go online by end-2022.
Omnes has become part of HP Solartech’s investor base through the Capenergie renewable funds. The financing is seen to enable the Swedish firm to execute its near-term independent power producer strategy.
