July 30 (Renewables Now) - Omega Geracao SA (BVMF:OMGE3) has signed a binding agreement for the acquisition of a 50% equity stake in a 181.5-MW wind power complex in Bahia state, the Brazilian energy company announced on Wednesday.

Omega is acquiring the interest from EDF Renewables do Brasil, the domestic green energy unit of French utility EDF SA (EPA:EDF), for approximately BRL 422.9 m million (USD 83.1m/EUR 69.9m) in total, including BRL 226.3 million in net debt assumption.

Named Ventos da Bahia 3, the wind park is expected to enter operations in January 2022.
