August 27 (Renewables Now) - Indian power group NTPC Ltd (BOM:532555) is seeking proposals for the installation of 1,200 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power capacity in India.

The wind farms can be located anywhere in India, NTPC said in the invitation for bids, released last week. The tender is open through September 16, 2019, while the maximum tariff of the proposals should not exceed INR 2.85 (USD 0.040/EUR 0.036) per kWh.

The capacity of each project should range between 50 MW and 600 MW, according to consultancy Mercom Capital. Winners will be awarded 25-year power purchase agreements (PPAs). Projects have to be commissioned within 18 months from the signing date of the PPA.

The tender follows NTPC's recently announced competition for the construction of 1,200-MW of ISTS-connected solar parks across India. The bidding deadline in this tender is September 2, 2019.
