Nordex unveils 4.8-MW turbine for strong-wind sites
Apr 26, 2018 14:54 CESTJanuary 11 (Renewables Now) - German wind turbine maker Nordex (ETR:NDX1) has managed to increase its firm order intake in the fourth quarter of 2017 by 12.5% year-on-year to 1,598.6 MW.
The company said today that expectations for a strong final quarter have been fulfilled. Sluggish order intake in the first nine months of 2017, however, left new orders for the year at 2,741.3 MW, down from 3,499.1 MW in 2016.
Nordex said its North America division performed particularly well in the fourth quarter with an order intake of 786.9 MW. In the full year it contributed 1,045.2 MW of orders, broadly in line with the 1,094.9 MW of orders secured by the manufacturer in Europe. As a result, the share of North America in its order intake rose to 38.1% from 23.6%, while Europe's share fell to 39.9% from 50.1%. The International division had 601.2 MW of new orders last year.
