Nordex gets 22.5-MW turbine supply order for Polish wind project
Aug 12, 2014 - German company Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) said today it will supply and install nine turbines as part of the first phase of a 37.5-MW wind park in Orla, eastern Poland.
The wind turbine maker expects the nine machines of its N100/2500 series to become operational as early as in December 2014. It will install the other six turbines at the wind park by mid-2015. The contract was awarded by project company C&C Wind, which is owned by international private equity firms and an independent power producer.
The 15-turbine Orla project has been developed since 2008 by a Nordex unit. It will have the capacity to produce up to 100 GWh of electricity a year. Its capacity factor is estimated at an above-average 33%.
In February, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it would extend a loan of as much as PLN 94 million (USD 29.8mm/EUR 22.4m) to support the first phase of the Orla project.
