A new development platform of Belgium-based energy investor AtlasInvest aims to deliver 2.7 GW of renewable energy projects across Europe by the end of 2022.
Dubbed Aukera Energy, the fully funded platform will focus on solar, onshore wind, storage, and other “high-impact” energy transition projects and will initially target markets such as the UK, Italy, Germany, Romania and Poland. AtlasInvest said on Wednesday that more than 1 GW of onshore wind and solar projects have already been secured.
“We are targeting returns in the long-term, but in doing so we are committed to deploying purpose-driven capital that will deliver tangible benefits for all parties and the environment,” said Aukera’s co-founder Pascal Emsens.
Aukera currently has head offices in Brussels and London and is present in Belgium, Italy, Poland, Romania, Germany and the UK and more will follow early next year. The company’s core team of renewable energy veterans has developed or co-developed more than 100 renewable energy projects.
