The purchased asset will be built on a closed landfill that is a former EPA superfund site. It is qualified under the state’s Community Remote Net Metering solar programme and is expected to serve some 700 customer households within National Grid’s territory. Building works are seen to conclude in the third quarter of 2020.

Nautilus said it has more than 30 MW of community solar projects in operation or under construction in Rhode Island and expects to serve over 5,000 residential customers in the state by 2021.
