Weekly renewables M&A round-up (May 23-27)
May 27, 2022 17:26 CESTJanuary 17 (Renewables Now) - MPC Energy Solutions (MPCES) has initiated construction work on the 12.3-MWp Parque Solar Los Girasoles solar project in Colombia, the Amsterdam-based developer and operator of low-carbon energy infrastructure announced on Monday.
The company said in a statement it is investing some USD 11 million (EUR 9.6m) in the project, with plans to complete it in the final quarter of the year. Socolco SAS is handling the construction process, while Trina Solar and Huawei are supplying photovoltaic (PV) panels and inverters, respectively.
The solar park is being built in the region of Norte de Santander, where it will generate some 23 GWh of electricity annually, equivalent to the power needs of over 17,000 people.
Once up and running, the solar plant is seen to generate about USD 1.3 million in revenues per year.
