PODGORICA (Montenegro), May 15 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's government has said it will call a tender for leasing out land for the construction and operation of a photovoltaic (PV) plant in the municipality of Ulcinj.

A photovoltaic plant with installed capacity of more than 200 MW will be built on the plot of land located in Briska Gora, which spreads on an area of 6.621 million square metres, the government said in a statement last week.

The tender envisages the opportunity for the signing of an agreement guaranteeing the purchase of electricity generated by the PV plant under market conditions, the government said.

The government said it approved the decision to call a tender for the project on May 4.

According to Montenegrin media reports, the first stage of the construction of the solar power plant has to be finished within 18 months from the date of the signing of the contract.
