Montenegro Awards Power Permit for 980 kW SHPP Project

PODGORICA (Montenegro), May 2 (SeeNews) – Montenegro said it has awarded a power permit to local firm Dekar for the construction of a small hydro power plant (SHPP) on the river Moraca with installed capacity of 980 kilowatts.

The annual output of the 1.8 million euro ($2.4 million) SHPP, located in the northern municipality of Kolasin, is planned at 3.321 gigawatt-hours, the country's economy ministry said.

After the issuing of the two-year power permit, which happened in mid-March, Podgorica-based Dekar should soon sign a concession deal with the Montenegrin government, clearing the way for the award of a construction permit for the project.
