Mitsuuroko, Renova power up 40.4-MW PV plant near Tokyo
Aug 6, 2014 - Mitsuuroko Green Energy Co of Japan said today it has put online a 40.4-MW solar park south of Tokyo in partnership with solar project developer Renova Inc and Fuyo General Lease Co (TYO:8424).
Financial details on the project were not revealed.
The photovoltaic (PV) power plant in Chiba prefecture's Futtsu city has been completed and put in operation at the start of July, according to the statement. It is estimated to produce some 42 million kWh of power per year, or enough to meet the needs of 11,500 local households.
Japan-based Mitsuuroko Green Energy focuses on the production of wind power. It is a subsidiary of diversified group Mitsuuroko Group Holdings Co (TYO:8131).
Thanks to its attractive feed-in tariffs (FiTs) Japan added 7,042 MW of PV photovoltaic (PV) capacity in the fiscal year through March 2014.
