Mass Megawatts eyes up to 25% lower wind augmenter costs

Nov 23, 2011 - US wind energy solutions developer Mass Megawatts Wind Power Inc (OTC:MMMW) said today it expected to cut the production costs for its wind augmenter by 20% to 25% in the short term thanks to the use of a new polymer material.

The company expects a further cost reduction of over 10% in the long term, coupled with lower labour costs related to the polymer.

Last month, Mass Megawatts announced that it had replaced the metal and wood renditions of its patent pending wind augmenter system with the polymer. The company expects that its enhanced technology will allow wind power to compete with fossil fuel methods for electricity generation in terms of costs.
