Martifer Solar to construct 6.6-MWp solar park in Spain
Nov 8, 2011 - Martifer Solar, a unit of Portuguese diversified holding group Martifer SGPS SA (ELI:MAR), said it had secured a turnkey contract to construct a 6.6-MWp solar power plant in the region of Murcia, Spain.
The facility will be built in two phases. The first 2.8-MWp phase is to be completed by the end of 2011, while the other 3.8-MWp phase is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2012. Once fully operational, the solar power plant is to produce enough power for 2,500 local households, Martifer calculates.
As part of the deal, the company will supply and install all photovoltaic (PV) components. When construction is completed, it will cater for the installation's operation and maintenance.
