Martifer Solar, Hanwha Q-Cells complete 17.8 MW solar project in Portugal
Nov 1, 2013 - Martifer Solar, part of Portuguese industrial group Martifer SGPS SA (ELI:MAR), and German solar cells maker Hanwha Q-Cells, part of Korean Hanwha Group, completed a 17.8 MW solar project in Portugal for a consortium of Korean investors, Martifer Solar said yesterday.
The project consists of six ground-mounted photovoltaic (PV) plants in the Loures, Montijo and Montemor-o-Novo regions, each with a capacity of between 2.2 MW and 6.7 MW. The plants were inaugurated on Thursday.
Hanwha Solar delivered 74,000 PV modules for the six facilities, which will produce enough power to meet the electricity needs of 24,800 residents, while saving 19,300 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
Martifer Solar expanded its solar energy portfolio to around 500 MW of solar installations globally with the completion of the project.
