Martifer Solar gets EPC deal for 4.5-MW solar project in Ukraine - report
Oct 25, 2012 - Portuguese photovoltaic (PV) energy specialist Martifer Solar has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) deal for a 4.5-MW solar plant in southern Ukraine, PV Magazine reported on its website today.
Rengy Developments, a group of investors and developers working on green energy projects in Eastern Europe, is developing the project. The solar system will include 18,300 PV modules on 10 hectares (24 acres) of land in the Vinnytsia region.
Martifer Solar expects to commission the plant by the end of the current year.
Earlier this month, the European bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it was arranging EUR 5.7 million (USD 4.4m) in funding for the project as part of the EUR-70-million EBRD Ukraine Sustainable Energy Lending Facility (USELF) for Ukrainian firms investing in green energy projects at home.
Rengy pans to develop 50 MW of solar projects in Ukraine, according to the report.
