Macedonia extends bidding deadline in Cebren/Galiste HPPs tender
SKOPJE (Macedonia), December 10 (SeeNews) – Macedonia has extended until January 3 the bidding deadline in a tender for the construction of hydro power plants Cebren and Galiste, the country's environment ministry said.
The ministry gave no reasons for the extension of the deadline in a statement posted on its website on Friday.
The bidding deadline was set to expire on December 22.
The winner of the tender will build the Cebren and Galiste power stations on the Crna river, in the country's south, in public-private partnership with Macedonian state-owned power producer Elektrani na Makedonija (ELEM) and will then operate the plants under a 52-year concession arrangement, the environment ministry said earlier in a tender notice.
The Cebren power station will have an installed capacity of 315 megawatts (MW) to 333 MW, while Galiste’s installed capacity is set between 185 and 197 MW.
ELEM should participate with at least 39% share in the concession partnership.
